I had one when I was a kid and I have been wanting to get one again but did not know if it would be "cool".Yes! people love it.

Like many others have said, these are fantastic watches if you don't care about being a bit nerdy. I've used one of these since elementary school, and the only time I ever replace them is when the bands break. For $15, this watch will last for years and years, and I'm sure even the watches I threw away are still running in a landfill somewhere. As long as you don't mind the fact that it doesn't have a back light, this is a fantastic watch and well worth the money.

Well it finally happened. After almost 20 years my old Casio CA53W-1 watch quit even after a new battery was inserted. Oh, it was 'on' but would not function properly. So I broke down and bought a new one. The old watch was used almost entirely when working in construction. The calculator function was used frequently.
So, these things work and last forever. Pretty good for about sixteen bucks. Even the batteries last for about five years. Yeah, it's ugly and not very hip. But, if this is what you need to use, it can't be beat.
