1Watch stopped working after 2 months!  Jun 23, 2008 By Keith in Wisconsin
I bought this watch in mid April and by June 22, the watch stopped working altogether. It's suppose to be water resistant up to 100 meters, but mine got condensation underneath the display while I was out in the rain. Buyer Beware!

5Great idea, but watch didnt hold up.  Mar 15, 2008 By C. Mitchell
Alas,I must revise my initial review of this product. After 3months it won't recharge. Even after leaving it in my car window for a week. And the indiglo light has died. Still looks good though. Part2, After sending the watch back, the seller sent me another & it is working "swimmingly". It hasn't lost its charge after 4mths. I am now very happy with this item.

4nice watch for a good price  Feb 11, 2008 By J. Campo
I bought this as a replacement for my casio g-shock which would have cost more to replace battery than it was worth. I like the font size of the display time - very easy to read. I love the buttons, which are a lot easier to use than my old g-shock. When you set up items, the screen gives feedback directing your selections, again, nice interface. The indigo is great! I use it all the time to view at nite. The color is very nice looking too. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the strap. The strap holder, has a notch on it that I guess is a design item to keep better hold of the strap. I find it makes it a lot harder to slide the strap in/out because the strap holder keeps grabbing the strap, when I just want to slide the strap thru. I wish they'd just put a normal strap holder. Other than that, it's a fine watch for the price.

2Indiglo Night Light Broke After Two Months  Jan 16, 2011 By M. Kato "MK"
I received the Timex Men's Ironman Triathlon Solar Powered watch, model no. T5J271, when Timex returned my T5J261 watch (same solar power watch with, apparently, only a different colored bezel) with a sticker on the back saying "Cannot be repaired." My T5J261's Indiglo Night Light stopped working after six months and never went on again, so I had sent the watch in for warranty repair (with an $8 check). Since everything other than the Indiglo Night Light still works, I use the T5J261 for daytime hours. I used the T5J271 for nighttime when I may need the Indiglo Night Light, but early this morning when I tried to turn on the Indiglo Night Light, the light flickered and went out and has not come back on since. Furthermore, unlike my T5J261, which continues to work for everything other than the Indiglo Night Light when the night light button is pressed, when I press the night light button on my T5J271 the watch FREEZES -- the seconds stop changing -- until I cycle it through the different modes and then it resumes from the second that it had stopped. After I tried the Indiglo Night Light several times since this morning, I noticed that the time on the T5J271 is now about two minutes behind the time set on the T5J261. Although the rest of the T5J271 seems to be still working, I have to remember to NOT press the night light button in order to avoid freezing the timekeeping part.

I have had replaceable-battery Casio and Timex watches for decades and have not had a watch's night light break before the timekeeping part stopped working. I thought that the advantage of having a solar power rechargeable battery watch would be the ability to use the night light without fear of draining the battery too quickly, because the battery will be recharged the next day by light. What I thought would be such a great feature has not lived up to its potential -- there is something very wrong with the design, components, or manufacture of these Timex solar power watches.

4Does not hold charge in the dark very long  Dec 05, 2010 By Pushkin
The watch that I recieved does not last more than 3 days if I leave it in the dark (closed desk drawer). Before the internal batteries run out it refuses to light the Backlight. After taken out the batteries recharge within 15 minutes of exposure to room light. If you wear it in the winter, make sure it is not always covered by your sweater sleeve, as it will slowly discharge.
