| | Description | About Bulova: The beginnings of the Bulova Watch Corporation can be traced to a small jewelry store opened on Maiden Lane in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia. In 1911, Bulova began manufacturing boudoir and desk clocks, along with fine pocket watches, which he made and sold in unprecedented numbers. During World War I, wristwatches were issued in the military for their greater convenience. Returning veterans brought them home, and a new fashion was created. In the 1950s, Bulova developed the Accutron, the first electronic watch, which was accurate to keeping time to within two seconds a day. During the 1960s, NASA asked the company to bring its timing expertise to computers for the Space Program. A Bulova timer was placed on the moon's Sea of Tranquility to control the transmissions of vital data through the years. | |

 Beautiful but not as described Jun 12, 2010
I wanted a watch that was dressy as well as water resistant. The description of this watch is that is is water resistant up to 99 feet. This is not true. I went down a water slide and the watch had water in it. Also, being a chronograph watch, the bottom button is suppose to reset the second hand to 12. It only reset to 9. All in all while being a beautiful watch, it was not at all water resistant. I returned the watch without a problem although I had to pay the return shipping on a watch that was defective and i was not offered a replacement - only a refund. I felt that due to the fact that the second hand did not function properly, I should not be responsible for the return shipping cost. I have now ordered a Bulova Marine Star watch which is sure to be water resistant, so I understand.

Out of the box this is such a pretty watch! It's not the chunky large men's style I typically like, but it isn't at all the tiny thin type of watch that's out of style. The band is slender and shiny. It is modern, elegant, & classy! The face is a creamy reflective mother of pearl, the diamonds are very sparkly and nice size, and I love the date and chronograph features. You could dress this up with a suit or down with jeans. Very happy!! Purchased with gift card from parents :) Much prettier than the pic shown here.

I just received this watch for Christmas. My husband looked in all the jewelry stores prior to ordering it on-line and there was nothing even close in price for the quality. The face on this watch is a irridescent beautiful mother of pearl and the diamond accents are just sparkly enough to be noticed. The hand that looks like it would be the second hand is actually the chronograph (the second hand is the bottom dial)--that was a little confusing. You can use the chrono for a second hand easily (just hit the top button to start it--I'm a nurse so I needed that). The diamonds on the band are very small but just add a little sparkle to the watch--not over the top. What makes this watch special, though, and different than a few other Bulova diamond watches on this site, is the smooth contours--makes a very elegant watch. I love it!
