| | Description | About Bulova: The beginnings of the Bulova Watch Corporation can be traced to a small jewelry store opened on Maiden Lane in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia. In 1911, Bulova began manufacturing boudoir and desk clocks, along with fine pocket watches, which he made and sold in unprecedented numbers. During World War I, wristwatches were issued in the military for their greater convenience. Returning veterans brought them home, and a new fashion was created. In the 1950s, Bulova developed the Accutron, the first electronic watch, which was accurate to keeping time to within two seconds a day. During the 1960s, NASA asked the company to bring its timing expertise to computers for the Space Program. A Bulova timer was placed on the moon's Sea of Tranquility to control the transmissions of vital data through the years. | |

Wonderful Watch Jul 22, 2010

I recently received the Bulova 98E00 as an anniversary present. As with all the Bulova watches I have owned/purchased, the 98E00 delivers high quality at a reasonable price. So far this watch has proven to be very accurate. Please be aware that the face has more of a silver tint to it than you may see on your screen, but it is still nearly white.
One of the more interesting functions is that the second hand (bottom dial of the chronograph) can be set to 12 o'clock before engaging the timer (it will then act as a one-second timer). This is done by pressing the lowest button on the right hand side. Once the timer has been reset to zero, simply push the lower button again and the second hand moves to the correct position and continues keeping time. This is probably not all that uncommon of a feature, but I have other chronographs that work a little differently.
Speaking of operation of the chronograph, the traditional second hand is still during regular use but operates as the one minute counter on the timer. The top dial is a one-hour timer, the middle left dial is a twelve-hour timer, and the bottom dial is a one second timer.
I am very happy with this watch, and at $195 at the time, the price could not be better.

This is a nice dress watch, however the quality is not as good as Seiko or Orient with the same price range.Maybe it is me because I like the fell of an automatic and kinetic watches.
