| | Description | With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market. In developing its own wristwatches Casio began with the basic question, "What is a wristwatch?" Rather than simply making a digital version of the conventional mechanical watch, we thought that the ideal wristwatch should be something that shows all facets of time in a consistent way. Based on this, Casio was able to create a watch that displayed the precise time including the second, minute, hour, day, and month - not to mention a.m. or p.m., and the day of the week. It was the first watch in the world with a digital automatic calendar function that eliminated the need to reset the calendar due the variation in month length. Rather than using a conventional watch face and hands, a digital liquid crystal display was adopted to better show all the information. This culminated in the 1974 launch of the CASIOTRON, the world's first digital watch with automatic calendar. The CASIOTRON won acclaim as a groundbreaking product that represented a complete departure from the conventional wristwatch. | |

SOLID! Nov 09, 2005

Basic watch for basic people... Not interested in all the flash and worry that goes along with a fancy watch? I'm not either! That's why I love this watch. I've owned several v.expensive watches, and still come back to the no-nonsense basis black band watch. I'd love a timex, but the casio's are rockin' my world right now... Can't beat it for the price...

Simple and lightweight Jul 27, 2010
By David Mcclurg Nice thing that you don't have to set the AM/PM or the date. My old watch kept getting the day of the month wrong when it rolled over to the next month. I don't need a watch for the date. I just want to know if I'm running late.
The watch face is elegant and classic. Shiny gold dots and bars catch the light over a muted dark background which makes it easy to see the hands. Says water resist so don't sweat it. Band is ribbed and flexible.
Overall, the watch is inexpensive, smallish but masculine, minimal, classy, lightweight, and comfortable. I'm enjoying it. Recommended for the casual guy.

Great watch, Great price, What else could you want? Mar 21, 2009
By Juan M. Herrera I purchased this watch almost by mistake. I paid $10 and thougth it was good looking for the price, it was a Casio and its reputation follow after all. I've had it for 3 months and just hate to take it off, it looks good, and it's tough as they come. You cant beat the price and the looks for ONLY $10 I love it!!! I recomended it wholehartly.

Best watch I have ever put on my wrist. Feb 04, 2010
By Marek I have the same model Casio watch as above and it is the best watch I have ever had.
You can't beat the quality for the price. I have had this watch on my wrist for over two years now with the same battery and it's the most reliable and durable timepiece I have ever known. Considering that the Skagen I used to wear cost over 10 times the $12 I paid for my Casio and was half the quality, this watch really rocks. The battery will seemingly last you forever and you only have to reset the time once every few months for accuracy.
If you're like me and you wear your watch everyday and expect it to be as sure as the sun when it comes to reliability, you can't beat a barebones Casio. I may never have to buy another watch in my life.
You can't go wrong with this little number Nov 30, 2010
By Lemai If you're looking for a watch that not only looks good but is SUPER inexpensive then this is the watch for you. It looks good, it is light weight, and it does the job. Clean and simple.
Great buy, I would recommend it to a friend any day!
