| | Description | Keep track of everything from the hour to the current month--and all that comes in between--with the smartly constructed Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 Strap Sport Watch. This solar-powered Eco-Drive watch never needs a battery and remains charged for months at a time, even in the dark. The distinguished brown tones of this watch begin with the round dial, adorned with three chronograph subdials, two of which are uniquely shaped--one in a crescent shape, the other like a paper-fan. These subdials overlay a unique textured background and are surrounded by a border of silver-tone Roman hour indexes. The outermost dial is two-tiered with a frame of second markers, marked in Arabic numerals in five-second increments, then continuing with another frame marked with the 12 months. The intricate dial is held by a durable stainless steel case and bezel, which connect to a strong brown leather dial that features a crocodile pattern and a handy deployment-clasp with a push-button. Boasting a durable mineral window and the reliability of Japanese-quartz movement, this classy contemporary timepiece is water resistant to 330 feet (100 M). | |

Very functional and beautiful Mar 26, 2010
By Marr I really enjoy this watch. The calendar function (leap-year worked) and the timezone function are a big value add. The time of worrying about rewinding or battery power are over! Great purchase!

Great Watch Mar 16, 2011
By Book Reviewer This is my second Citizen Calbre Watch. The pictures don't do it justice. The brown dial is really sharp looking. The deployment clasp gives the watch a level of sophistication that others don't have. I Highly recommend checking this one out.
I travel a lot and love the easy of setting the local time. This feature allows you to adjust the time in 1 hour increments and when you go home you switch back to your time and the hands automatically move backwards or forwards depending on the time change.
The watch has a calendar feature which means you will no longer find yourself moving the date forward on short months. The watch even knows when leap year is.
In addition the watch has an alarm feature and a calendar feature. Neither of which I really use. The alarm is really too anemic to be of much use.

Great watch at a fair price Aug 04, 2010
By D. Bland This is my second Eco-Drive watch, and I love them both! While I don't use most of the functions (calendar, alarm, and local time), it's very nice to know that they are available. This is a very stylish and elegant watch, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Citizen Men's BL8000 Eco-Drive Calibre Mar 10, 2012
By Noonan75 I will be blunt here...I love this watch and I get positive comments on it all the time. It's watch that's casual enough for everyday use, but easily blends with a suit for more formal occasions. The perpetual calendar is a great feature, and it's guaranteed accurate for some 99 years (I think). The only complaint I can come up with, and it's a small one, is that the deployment clasp on my watch had a bit of a hair trigger. A quick trip to a jeweler tightened up the action on the clasp and it stays put now. The deployment clasp is a very nice feature, as far as I'm concerned. It allows you to have a leather strap, without the worry of having to replace it. The deployment clasp allows you to put the watch on and take it off without putting stress on the band or the sizing holes like you would in a traditional closure. This watch has more features than I'll ever likely use, but one that I have used is the seperate time zone mode. If you're travelling to a different time zone, you can change the mode on the watch, set the time to the new time zone, and go about your business. When you return home, just change the mode back, and the watch automatically changes back to local time. This watch also never needs a battery change, since it runs on stored energy from sunlight. If it's without light for an extended period, it'll go to sleep and stop running. As soon as it is exposed again to light, it returns to the correct time and begins running again. I'd recommend this watch in a heartbeat.
My favorite watch Jan 07, 2012
By K. Brown I love this thing! Fantastic for travelers and anyone that just wants a stylish, care-free timepiece. It's absolutely beautiful, lightweight and comfortable. I've gotten several comments on it already after only a month. The perpetual calendar and local timezone features sold it for me and it's delivered on that promise. Never worry about a battery and it only loses about 10 seconds a month (estimate). Once you learn how to use it, you never have to go back to the manual to figure it out, though it takes a slight learning curve to do that. The only drawback is the bezel will scratch (NOT the crystal so far), but I doubt there is a watch where that won't happen if you wear it regularly. Well worth the price.
