5I love this watch  Jan 13, 2008 By S. Denis "Scott"
this watch was a gift from my wife. it is an awesome time piece. it keeps precise time. it feels good on my wrist. and so far every where I go, I get compliments on it. It is just luxurious enough to go with any suit I own, and sporty enough to hang out with a pair of jeans. And looks great any where in between. I own a few other fancy watches and sport watches, and this is by far my favorite. And since I am at the age of needing reading glasses, with the large dial, hands and date, it is very easy to read. Setting the perpetual calendar was a bit confusing at first, but ended up being simple enough.
I hope to never have to, but I would buy another one if I had to.

5Great Watch... Great Fit  May 16, 2008 By BrnFrnld
I had been on the market for a little while trying to find a nice casual/dressy watch. I was all over the place looking at Seiko, Bulova, and Invicta, as well as many other brands, but kept coming back to Citizen.

The look and feel of this watch is great. Just enough weight to it to be comfortable. The selling point for me on this watch was that the simple functions yet had the look of a complicated watch. Looks like a chronograph at a quick glance but only has the 24hr clock and the seconds on the small dials. The date Is nice and large and I am excited about the perpetual-calendar and not having to adjust the thing every time Feb roles around (i know, silly to think that it takes such little time to change the date on most watches, but this has just a cool factor to it).

The dial has a nice size to is.

Another plus on this watch was the band. Nice two tone look and a nice size as well. I am not a small guy and often have problems finding watches that are large enough without having to send them out or wait on extra links to arrive. The width is nice and comfortable which doesn't impede hand movement. The clasp is nice and easy to operate and feels pretty secure.

I can't wear watches where I work, or at least nice ones with the risk of being beaten to death and horribly scratched so the Eco-drive was a nice choice over one that was automatic. In order for me to have had an automatic watch, i would have had to purchase one of the watch winders that keep the thing running when i wasn't wearing it. With the eco drive, the watch has a pretty good shelf life as far as charge goes and can be left out on you dresser to absorb light and stay charged while not wearing it.

4Impressive Watch!  Sep 13, 2009 By Admiral Dewey "23rd Regiment"
Let me just say, this watch looks fantastic!! Its true that the dial is more of a deep blue-gray than the brilliant blue as advertised in the picture, but believe me, it looks great. The texture of the dial face (not the the covering, the actual dial) is very nice.

A cool feature of this watch that is not mentioned elsewhere is that the hands light up in the dark, and little dots appear on the periphery of the dial face to mark the time. Don't worry that this watch "glows" and is like a beacon of light --- its not like that at all. You just have to look closely at the watch and then you can see the thin bars and dots glowing. I find it very useful.

In terms of comfort, I would say this is an average watch. Its kind of heavy but I like that. The dial face is also very large and showy, which I think is appealing but others might not.

My only problem with this watch is that the date is terribly difficult to set. Some complex sequence of pressing buttons A and B and turning the screw is supposed to set the date but I still can't do it. Setting the time, though, is a breeze.

Overall, I would highly recommend this watch. It looks far more expensive than it actually is, so the price is very good. Plus, the dial face has a nice balance between functionality and complexity.

4Fantastic watch!  Nov 20, 2009 By Matthew Moskowitz
I bought this watch after careful consideration of all the Citizen Eco Drive models. Its extremely easy to read and a great feature is that the hands and dots glow "ice blue" faintly in the dark. Its faint enough to not be noticeable but enough to read the time in a movie theater. I get compliments often on the looks...it goes with almost any outfit, casual or dressy and is generally classy looking.

The ONLY thing that i found a little inconvenient at first was the charging of the battery via light. I guess i expected the watch to hold its charge for longer as I found it ran slow due to insufficient power. the quick fix: I place it under a florescent light for about 30 minutes every 2 days or so and it seems to be perfect ever since.

Enjoy this watch!

5Great Fashionable Watch  Apr 16, 2010 By The Rebel "RebelRanger"
First of all this watch is visually stunning. A classy and fashionable design that looks good when worn with any wardrobe! The silver band is heavy duty and the watch itself is a bit heavy. The dark blue face with the silver roman numerals really stand out.

Many reviewers have issues setting this watch. I also did until I followed the instructions on the Citizen website. Don't use the PDF instruction manual as it is misleading. Instead watch the interactive video which is a step by step movie which shows the process and pauses so you can keep up.

Keep in mind this watch loves light and needs it to charge the battery. Make sure it gets full light exposure consistently or it will warn you then stop. Citizen states that it should receive sunlight for best results and once the battery is fully charged it will last for 12 months. From my experience it is best to ensure that it gets exposure to light as often as possible. Never store it in a drawer or dark place. Rather pull the crown out to the full (2) position for storage as it will suspend the watch until the crown is pushed in again.

Overall a great watch that needs attention now and then!
I've had mine for 2 years with no problem!
