Buyer beware Oct 13, 2011
By Joshua Cargile

Normally I am an avid review-reader, but this time I figured "meh, they're Energizer batteries, why bother?" I'll tell you why - the packaging indicates that these were manufactured in 1998. As in, during the Clinton administration. Before Y2k. In the previous century.
Amazingly they still worked, albeit briefly. I've managed to take my baby's temperature once with each battery before it dies.
Note - these were sold by the Shopper's Shop. I don't know if those sold by other sellers are as ancient.

OLD Batteries Aug 14, 2011
By Amaraka These batteries were listed as "new". This may be true, but the batteries themselves were manufactured over ten years ago. There was no power left in these batteries when I removed them from the package. Waste of money!!!

Buyer Beware! Batteries EXTREMELY old! Oct 10, 2011
By WB These batteries are from 1998 and do not work! Bought from PhotolandNY. I read the reviews but figured I would chance it since the price was so cheap and these things are so hard to find. Oh well, guess I'll keep looking.

Batteries died right away Jun 02, 2011

I also bought these for a Vick's baby thermometer. I actually have two of them and both died fairly quickly. My daughter was recently sick and had to take her temp several times throughout the day and ended up changing out the batteries on both of them until all the batteries (all 5 of them) were used up. I couldn't believe a new battery was running out of power so quickly (only after about three uses). I looked at the back of the packaging and it said 1998. I'm not sure of the shelf life of most batteries, but I'd say these were pretty darn old and probably the reason they didn't last long.

Batteries were from 1998 and stopped working almost emediately Aug 17, 2011

Since the policy for return is 'unopened packaging' and these batteries were in capsule packaging I have to bust open to get at the batteries... I can't return these. This was to replace the battery on a Vic's personal thermometer Vicks SpeedRead Digital Thermometer (Oral, Rectal, Under Arm) . I tried this with all of the batteries in the package and they all registered on the thermometer as being 'LOW'. So I tested it out. By the 5th reading the display would show something briefly and turn itself off. The original battery still displays fine on the thermometer. So I know it is the batteries. I looked on the back of the package and it said 1998 on the back of the package. I could have just bought a new thermometer for what I paid for these batteries. SIGH!!!
