Best watch I ever owned. Aug 21, 2010
By Lewis Thomas
"Sweet Lou"
My son told me about the 8813 Luminox and it's great features and qualities. I must confess that I am completely pleased with mine. It's so light you forget you have it on, in fact i hardly ever remove mine. In the dark or in full light it's easy to read. GREAT WATCH!!

Awesome time piece Dec 09, 2010
By D. Wilson This watch is lightweight but carries alot of punch. The face is a nice size, the colors look great and it has a great presence about it.

Before you buy consider that Jomashop is NOT an authorized dealer Dec 28, 2011
By JC Han First off I would like to say that I'm usually too lazy to write any reviews so this is actually the first on Amazon. However, I felt compelled to do so to share my thoughts on my current situation with the watch so you can understand the potential risks.
The watch's exterior is very solid, the mineral face after 9 months of use is still in perfect condition. The case is durable and light-weight, and has held up well to my normal uses. This is not my everyday watch but mostly for overnight hiking/camping trips where I need to know the time without having to hold a flashlight to my watch. Time keeping is accurate so far and the luminous markers have been just as bright since the day of purchase.
Now on to the issue I have with the watch: after 6-7 months, one of the luminous markers in the 9 o'clock position had came loose, and is bumping freely around inside the watch. You can see the picture I uploaded for details. To be fair, I do believe this is a rare occurrence and should not be a problem for majority of the watches out there. However, you have to keep in mind that Jomashop is NOT an authorized Luminox dealer, and their advertised 2-year warranty does NOT cover this particular defect. This is the quote copy & pasted directly in my email conversation from a Jomashop customer service representative:
"We will service every brand name watch sold on our website. Watches that have symptoms of abnormally gaining time, losing time, or not keeping proper time will be serviced under our warranty program.
Our warranty does not cover "external damage" to the product. We do not service watches with any damages resulting from wear to the watch case, crystal/glass, watch bracelet, watch bezel, straps, screws, crown/stem, finishes, clasps/buckles, or any other physical damage to the watch."
So then I contacted Luminox' service shop and they replied that since Jomashop is not an authorized dealer this defect cannot be cover with their warranty either, the approximate cost to repair is $118.
To summarize, the watch itself is solid and should serve most people well for a good price, and I don't believe the quality issue of my watch is rampant. However, I simply want to let you know the risks of buying from them is that any defect that is not covered under Jomashop, will probably cost you half of the price you paid for. In the end I would still recommend this watch but I think it's better that you buy from an authorized dealer.

Sharp timepiece Apr 07, 2011
By Keith L. Johnson This Luminox watch is really great looking, lightweight, and easy to wear. The glow in low light conditions is pretty good. Hope that it provides many years of recreational wear.

Disappointed Jul 25, 2011
By mfowler I bought this watch for my husband because it was advertised as being so durable - worn by Navy Seals and military etc. He wore it for a little over a week and the crystal cracked. Trying to get it repaired is a real pain. No authorized dealers for Luminox could replace the crystal for us because they said Luminox will not send them the parts they require to do repairs. You have to send it back to the Luminox service center to get it repaired, so that will cost me another $50 to $75 by the time I pay for postage both ways and for the repair. Also it will take about a month. I am really, really disappointed and wish I had never purchased the watch. My husband has worn cheap Timex watches for years and they have been more durable than this watch. I feel ripped off! It is now Dec and the crystal has broken again. What a piece of crap this watch is! I am pretty sure that the military DOES NOT USE THIS WATCH.... DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!! I am just trying to find out how I get my money back. Problem is you can never talk to anyone other than the service dept, I guess that is the only employees they have since it breaks so much.
