 Excellent Rado Alternative! Feb 06, 2010

This would have to be my favorite watch out of all that I have ever owned. The ceramic which this watch is made of is a fantastic and a highly durable scratch-resistant material. Additionally, it is extremely lightweight. I can barely tell that I have a watch on my wrist when I am wearing it since it is so light and comfortable to wear. The face of the watch is sapphire which is also very durable and much better than quartz faces that most other watches out there have. In summary, this watch is made of very high-quality material found in more expensive watches like Rado. In fact, I was originally looking to purchase a Rado since I love the way ceramic bands look and feel. However, I did not feel like spending $1000+ for a watch. Oniss makes great looking quality watches out of the same materials at an excellent affordable price.

I purchased this watch and the pin holding the case and band together literally fell to pieces within 3 months of normal, even somewhat gentle, wear. The watch claims to have a warranty of 3 years against manufacturing defects and when I contacted the company initially they told me that part was not under warranty and they would send me a replacement pin at no cost to repair myself. I didn't like it, but I took it. Less than 2 weeks later, it broke again, this time, more like shattered. The company keeps telling me they will fix the band as a courtesy even though they don't consider it under warranty. When I sent it to them, they then turned around and claimed damage to the case that wasn't there when I sent it and wants $69 to repair it. I'm currently arguing with them to either refund, exchange or repair it per their warranty. This company stinks to do business with. Too bad, it was pretty sitting in the box.
 Beautiful Watch with Limitations Mar 31, 2010

I've had this watch for about 3 months now. It is a beautiful black ceramic watch with a very hard crystal face. So far, no scratches anywhere, and I haven't been very careful.
The drawbacks that potential buyer should be aware of are:
- The second hand and the minute hand look a lot alike. The consequence is that sometimes if you just want to glance at the watch for the time, you can't be sure of where the minute hand is until you look at the watch for a few seconds (and see the second hand moving).
- The date is very tiny. Both the minute and the second hand can, at least partially obstruct it. Even when it isn't obstructed the date is so tiny, it is hard to read. Some of the Oniss watches have a magnifier over the date to make it more visible, but this watch doesn't have a date magnifier.
