Nice looking--but breaks in a hurry! Jul 22, 2010
By justin_pgh This watch is very light, has a thin profile, and is nice to look at, but the crystal is not durable at all! I had this watch for about 1.5 months, and had normal day-to-day wear and tear (nothing too strenuous), and after placing it on my nightstand the previous evening, I woke up to find the crystal had completely shattered! I took it to a local watch-repair shop, and they said they wouldn't touch Skagen watches--not even to change the battery. Their comment was that the mechanism falls apart once the case is open, the crystal is too thin and brittle, and the face inside the crystal is too fragile to even work with (the numbers on the face are basically aluminum foil). Next step is to deal with Skagen's customer service, and hopefully to get a replacement. A refund would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath. Hopefully I can get a few more months out of the replacement--not that I'll ever get my money's worth out of this watch! I've seen other reviews on other sites about Skagen's poor quality, and wish I'd read them before buying this. Beware!

Very Nice Mar 14, 2010
By Matthew R. Smith I received the Skagen Men's Titanium Black Dial Watch last week. I am very pleased with the look and feel of the watch. I was able to have the size adjusted. I have small wrists and only needed two links removed. It is very nice, thin and lightweight. the size of the face is slightly larger than I expected, but does not affect my positive opinion of the watch. I look forward to wearing it.

Great Seller May 06, 2011
By lauraann When I recieved the watch and it actually had a dark charcoal gray face instead of black. Very nice watch, but I was looking for a black face. The seller was incredibly understanding about my situation and made the return process very easy. I definitely would buy from this seller again and recommend his products.

Fantastic Watch! Sep 02, 2010
By Consumer Review I have owned many Skagen watches over the years, I currently have about 15 of them. This watch (the 801XLTXM) is the nicest one to date (along with it's brother the 801XLTBXB). It is very thin, very light, and feels great on your wrist. I do not purchase any watches with Roman numerals or indices, I only purchase watches with full numbers, and this one fits the bill. This watch is simple yet elegant, and having the date display is a great bonus. I highly recommend this watch! If there is a small downside it is the fact that you have to remove links to size the watch. I was able to do this myself and was not too difficult.
Looks great but not well built Mar 05, 2012

I prefer a low profile, simple, elegant watch made of titanium or stainless steel. My wife bought this watch (with my input) as an anniversary gift to replace the 12-year old Citizen watch she bought for me on our 1st year anniversary. I really liked the watch's fit and feel as well as its great looks. I received many comments on how nice it looked. But only about 3 months after I bought it the metal band broke in a weak spot in the latch area. It has some very thin metal parts right next to a pivot point near the latch. I was able to get the jeweler I bought it from to replace the broken part for free. Then about 8 months after I bought it, the crystal broke while I was sitting at my desk. I had not hit it against anything hard or caused any damage to it. I was just sitting at my desk at work and heard a strange sound. I looked at the watch and saw the crack. I was able to get Skagen to replace the crystal for free because it was so new. About 2 months after getting the crystal fixed, the watch band broke again in the same place that the first one broke. I'm done with this POS. I've learned my lesson to never buy a Skagen watch again. You'd think if you paid close to $200 for a watch that it would be a little more durable than this. I will attempt to find a non-Skagen band to replace this one but I won't spend much money on it.
