| | Description | The Timex Men's Ironman Solar Power 50-Lap Watch #T5J271 is a must-have for serious athletes who appreciate style as much as they value high performance. The sturdy resin and woven canvas strap complements a striking turquoise metal bezel. The light gray dial features bold, easy-to-read digital numbers, which show time, day, and calendar. The watch's most unique feature is its rechargeable energy source that uses natural and artificial light, so no battery change required. Among the laundry list of Ironman-worthy functions are: 100-hour chronograph with lap or split option in large digits, 50-lap memory recall, power conservation feature with Sleep Mode, 99-lap counter and a 24-hour countdown timer. The watch, which features Indiglo night light, is water resistant to 330 feet and comes with a one-year manufacturer's warranty. | |

Most used of my dozen watches Jul 25, 2010 I have everything from a Tag Heuer to Titanium Seiko Chronographs to an Omega Mars X-33, and I use this watch more than all of them put together. Why? It's the most legible, I can do yard chores, time my runs and bike rides, play tennis, shower, and I can see it in the dark when I have to get up at 4am for early plane flights. It doesn't set off the metal detectors at the airport, and it has 3 time zones. It also has a countdown timer with alarm for conditioning drills. I still have my non-solar version, but when the solar versions went on sale at WalMart for $19, I bought three of them. Only thing missing is Atomic accuracy, but the G-Shocks and Pathfinders are way too bulky and heavy. Don't need the testosterone, just the time!
good but . . . Sep 20, 2009 I love the watch--like the look, like the digital size, like that it's solar. But I too find the strap "catch" annoying. In fact, having to tug on the strap holder made the strap come off. I couldn't get the strap back on, and neither could a watch repair guy. I brought it to another repair service, and I have my fingers crossed it will stay on.

Watch stopped working after 2 months! Jun 23, 2008 I bought this watch in mid April and by June 22, the watch stopped working altogether. It's suppose to be water resistant up to 100 meters, but mine got condensation underneath the display while I was out in the rain. Buyer Beware!

Not Recommended May 27, 2008 The concept is great. However, the watch is not. The LCD contrast ratio is bad. The overall display looks dark, and is not easy to read in low light.
I am returning mine.

Great idea, but watch didnt hold up. Mar 15, 2008 Alas,I must revise my initial review of this product. After 3months it won't recharge. Even after leaving it in my car window for a week. And the indiglo light has died. Still looks good though. Part2, After sending the watch back, the seller sent me another & it is working "swimmingly". It hasn't lost its charge after 4mths. I am now very happy with this item.
